← Blank Desk

A LOCAL-FIRST ANDROID LAUNCHER

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 11, 2026

This policy explains how Blank Desk handles information when you use the Android application. Blank Desk is designed to work locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, Firebase, or an app-owned server for uploading your content.

1. Information processed on your device

Blank Desk can process the following information locally when you use the related features:

2. Permissions and optional features

The app requests sensitive permissions only for features that need them. You can decline or revoke them in Android settings. If a permission is revoked, the related feature stops or asks for access again; other launcher features remain available where possible.

The All files access permission is used for local file search and for working with files selected by you. Contacts access is used for local contact search. Microphone access is used for user-started voice memos. Activity recognition is used for the opt-in step counter. Accessibility is used for the optional lock-screen gesture. Notifications and exact alarms are used for reminders or countdowns that you configure. Package deletion is used only for the user-confirmed uninstall action from the app list. The app does not use a foreground service for step counting.

3. Sharing and external apps

Blank Desk does not send your content to a Blank Desk server. If you choose to open, share, call, message, or otherwise send something, Android passes the selected data to the app or service that you choose. That recipient handles the data under its own privacy policy. Do not share sensitive content unless you trust the selected recipient.

4. Storage, retention, and deletion

Blank Desk keeps app data on the device until you delete it, clear the app’s data, remove the related item inside the app, or uninstall the app. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for Blank Desk’s private app data. Files stored in locations outside Blank Desk’s private app storage are not automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. Android, your selected document provider, and any receiving app may retain data according to their own policies.

5. Security

Blank Desk relies on Android application storage, permission controls, and the storage/document providers you choose. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device protected and revoke access to folders or permissions that you no longer want Blank Desk to use.

6. Children

Blank Desk is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a remote service.

7. Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the relevant change is released. The effective date at the top shows which version applies.
